We sat down with Tania and learned more about being a mom to little Adriana.
What was your reaction was when we emailed you to tell you that Adriana was a finalist in the competition?
I was completely in shock! I phoned my husband, and said, “You won’t believe this, we’re in the finals!” I was so excited that he had to ask me to calm down.
In terms of sleeping arrangements, do you have a particular routine that you follow?
Not really, she actually sleeps with us in our bed. We’ve got a pillow called Nurture Oneto help Adriana with reflux. It’s supposed to mimic the womb and make it safe for her to sleep between us. It’s makes everything easier because she’s close to us.
Does Adriana have a favourite toy or something that you can already see that she really enjoys?
She’s got a little chair that she sits in and it vibrates. It’s like a little bouncer, but with toys. She hasn’t really grasped on to that yet.
What we did notice is that she loved looking in the mirror.
Yes, she does, so I stand in front of the mirror and I say, “Who’s that beautiful girl?” Then she usually smiles.
Does Adriana have a favourite treat?
She’s still being bottle-fed. She loves her food, so I have to have her bottle ready in time. If it’s not ready, it’s a screaming match.
Do you have any advice for other mothers? What would you say are the lessons you’ve learnt in the last 12 weeks?
I’d say the first two weeks are the hardest, and if there’s help, take it. Have that nap when your mom offers to watch the baby. It’S really hard in the beginning, but it’s all worth it.
Keep your eyes peeled next week for the final mom and baby finalist duo in the 2018 Comfort Cover Stars competition!
