6 Tips for dealing with stress in pregnancy

It’s natural to feel worried and experience some level of stress during pregnancy. There are so many things you have to get organised for the new member of your family plus you might be worried about bonding with your baby or breastfeeding. Here’s how to relax and de-stress.


1. Make time for yourself
You’re so busy getting everything organised for your little one’s arrival, it’s easy to forget to think about yourself. It’s tiring work growing a baby, so make sure to take some time out and relax. A bubble bath with an interesting book or your favourite magazine is a great way to relax at the end of the day.

2. Get a massage

3. Exercsie
Exercising will help you to feel less stressed. Keep it light though – go for a walk, a swim or a yoga class.

4. Ask for help
If your to-do-list seems like it’s not getting any shorter, ask friends and family to help out. Go through your list and choose the jobs you want to do yourself and dish the rest out to willing friends and family members.

5. Get enough sleep
If you feel tired during the day, take a nap. Sleep is really important in fighting and preventing stress.

6. Know when to say no
If you know you don’t have the time or energy to organise a friend’s birthday party or baby shower, or to take on extra work at the office, say no. Knowing your limits is an important way of preventing stress.
