1. Blast those creases away using your hair dryer
Spritz your clothes with a bit of water and hold the dryer a couple of centimetres away on a high setting. Voila! No ironing needed.
2. Steam while showering
Hang your clothes in the bathroom while you take a nice warm shower. The steam will ease out those creases in no time at all.
3. Ice is not just for keeping your water cold
Put your clothes in the tumble dryer with a couple of block of ice for about 20 minutes. The steam created by the ice melting will work its magic and save you from the ironing.
4. Use a wet towel
Lay your clothes on a wet surface and press the wet towel on top. The wrinkles magically disappear.
5. Spray crinkles away
Spray your clothes with a lavender oil and water solution (one teaspoon of lavender oil to one litre of water) as soon as you take them out of the washing machine. “Lavender oil is a fibre relaxant so the creases just drop out. It also helps keep mozzies away,” says Shannon Lush, co-author of Speed Cleaning (ABC Books).
6. Don’t overload the washing machine
When you load the machine over its capacity, there’s not enough room for the clothes to move around. When sending the clothes through the spin cycle, the result will be wrinkly clothes every time.
7. Spray your clothes with water
Lightly spray your wrinkled clothes with a water bottle and let them hang to dry before getting ready for work in the morning. Don’t soak the clothes, they should just be slightly damp. This method won’t take more than 15 minutes.
