Wet Rock Adventures

What’s great about Wet Rock Adventures is that it’s an indoor heated water park, so you can bring your kids to enjoy what they have to offer come rain or shine! Open to all ages, it has 7 kid and adult friendly slides, several pools, an awesome lazy river and a dry, soft play area for little ones, which is conveniently situated next to a cafe. Good news is that there’s lifeguards on duty to help you keep an eye on your little ones as they splash up a storm.

Why the kids will love it?

What’s not to love about sliding and splashing in water again, again, and again!

What about the parents? 

There’s a middle pool with seating which is ideal for moms with babies to relax in and enjoy themselves.

Other facilities?

No food or drink is allowed into the water park, but you can order salads, wraps, burgers, milkshakes and much more from the Wet Rock Cafe. The barista will also serve up a great café latte while you keep an eye on the kids.

There are change rooms (but note, no showers).

Cost

Rates are dependent on the amount of slide time you choose:

  • 1 hour: R90 (3 years and under); R100 (4 years and over)
  • 2 hours: R120 (3 years and under); R160 (4 years and over)
  • Full day: R200 (all ages)
  • “Spectator” fee: R20

Fridays 12pm to 5pm; Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 5pm. They’re also open during school and public holidays.

If your kids enjoy arts and crafts, they’ll love an outing to The Seed Pod Studio. Situated in the Broadacres Garden Centre, the studio offers all sorts of inspirational ideas to bring out the inner artist in your little ones.

Book a table and let them select a bunny or fairy, or a vase for granny, to paint and decorate. While they’re absorbed in their masterpieces, you can try your hand at your own creation.

It’s advisable to bring some snacks and drinks for your kids with you for when they get hungry or thirsty, but you can also order in coffee and snacks to enjoy at your table.

Why the kids will love it?

Besides getting a chance to draw and paint, they’ll love having the chance to pick out a ceramic shape to decorate, which they can keep or give to granny or a favourite teacher as a special gift afterwards.

Scratch Patch Mineral World and Cave Golf

Southern Africa is still considered the gemstone capital of the world, so make the most of it by taking your kids on a sensory adventure at The Scratch Patch. You can buy small or large containers for you and your kids to fill up with an array of colourful stones to take home.

Afterwards, visit the gemstone factory to see how the stones are tumbled, processed and polished, or take the kids to the aquarium which is just a stone throw away.

This family- and bike-friendly café not only serves great coffee and great food, it’s an awesome place to meet up with other cyclists and fuel up or relax after rides. Off the veranda is a cool pump track for push bikes – the perfect place for tots to get started on wheels – as well as a play area and sandpit.

They make the best milkshakes and the cool bike track is a winner!

Tuck into a delicious brunch, some great coffee and the relaxing setting while the kids play on their bikes.

The venue has a number of balance bikes and push bikes for the kids to use, which are available on a first come first serve basis at no extra cost. Just remember to bring a helmet for your kid!

C U Kids at D’Aria
