There’s nothing more exciting than scavenging in the garden for hidden treasure. Your kids will have so much fun hunting for Easter eggs at these events.

The Lindt Gold Bunny Gardens

When and where?

  • 31 March–2 April at Canal Walk Shopping Centre and Cavendish Square in Cape Town.
  • 7-9 April at Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Durban and Menlyn Park in Pretoria.

What’s happening?

Don’t miss out on the Lindt Gold Bunny Gardens hunt. The kids will have loads of fun filling their baskets with yummy Lindt treats.

How much?

Simply buy a Lindt Gold Bunny Milk 100g from a Woolworths store or at The Lindt Gold Bunny Garden Kiosk and keep your till slip. (Each Lindt Gold Bunny Milk 100g entitles one child to enter a Lindt Gold Bunny Garden.)

Easter egg hunt at UShaka Marine World

 When and where?

15-16 April at UShaka Marine World in Durban.

What’s happening?

This year 100 000 Beacon Marshmallow Eggs (in the form of tokens) will be hidden in nooks and crannies across the theme park. Kids will get a goody bag with an Easter treasure map highlighting clues to help them on their quest.

How much?

Tickets cost R140 per child.

Any extra info?

The Easter egg hunt is from 7am – 8am. The Easter dolphin show will take place afterwards at 8.30am.

Nt’ Shonalanga Easter Family Fun Day

When and where?

15-16 April at Nt’ Shonalanga Valley Resort in Pretoria.

What’s happening?

There will be a family lunch on both Saturday and Sunday, as well as an Easter egg hunt for the kids, volley ball, table tennis and face painting.

How much?

Create your own picnic baskets, ranging from R150-R400, or enjoy lunch braai-style for R180 for adults and R95 for kids.

Easter Sunday buffet lunch at The Big Red Barn

When and where?

16 April at The Big Red Barn in Olifantsfontein, Pretoria.

What’s happening?

Spend Easter Sunday in the countryside, enjoying gourmet dishes, live music and an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Easter Eggsplorer Egg Hunt

When and where?

15-16 April at Durban Botanical Gardens.

What’s happening?

Find all the giant Easter eggs the Easter Bunny has hidden in the gardens and claim your delicious chocolate surprise and a Durban Botanic Gardens Eggsplorer Certificate. There will also be a cupcake-decorating stand, sand art, a bunny petting farm, carnival games, face painting, soft play and much more.

How much?

R45 for kids aged one to three; R95 for kids aged four to 14; R40 for observers (adults).

Any extra info?

The hunt will be split into two categories. For the little ones (aged one to three), the hunt will take place within the main arena in a safe, controlled environment.

For older kids (aged four to 14), the hunt will be in the gardens. Each participant will receive an Eggsplorer Map and will have to follow the trail and find the eggs hidden throughout the gardens.

Parents will be required to accompany all Eggsplorers.

Hunts takes place throughout the day, from 8.30am to 3pm.

All Things Yummy and Easter Bunny Show

When and where?

8-9 April at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

What’s happening?

There will be Easter egg hunts, so don’t forget to bring your egg basket as well as meet and greets with a variety of fluffy characters to keep the kids entertained. There will also be a selection of chocolates, cakes and sweets available to satisfy your sweet tooth.
