Dolphins By Starlight

UShaka Marine World brings the festive season to the sea with its annual Dolphins by Starlight show. Not only will there be dancing and singing, especially of favourite Christmas carols, but the highlight of the event has to be the ‘fun finned’ cast of Sea World, the famous dolphins that include the much-loved Gambit. Be entertained by their antics while learning the importance of caring for our precious ocean.

Fantasy of Lights

The Waterfall Park, located at the Mall of Africa, will turn into the Fantasy of Lights, a glittering wonderland of extraordinary lights, visual effects and holiday season decorations for families to visit. Plus, there will be a stage production with amazing costumes, a festive score and humorous storyline to keep everyone entertained. Snacks will also be available.

Dear Santa at The Point

If your kids have written their letters to Santa, but haven’t posted them yet, there’s a special postbox to the North Pole at The Point Mall in Sea Point. The Santa Claus Post Box is situated at the new Post Office for little ones to send their requests (which must include your name, email address and contact number). Now who has been naughty or nice?

Gardens of Light

The manicured gardens at the five-star Peermont D’Oreale Grande hotel, at Emperors Palace, will be lit up and livened up this festive season with the help of dazzling lights and colourful Christmas characters. Aside from light spectacular, there will also be fun rides for the whole family. All proceeds go to Peermont Children’s Trust, Peermont Education Trust and Cancer Association of South Africa.

Christmas Carols at Kirstenbosch

Pack a picnic, gather friends and family, and sing along to favourite festive songs in one of South Africa’s most beautiful settings. Christmas Carols at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is one of Cape Town’s most popular festive season events, which supports the Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch and raises funds for charities. It also features the Cape Town Concert Brass and the Cape Town Male Voice Choir.
