We were relieved when we tasted the Ryvita crackers and found that, unlike many other healthy cracker options, they didn’t taste like cardboard.

If you’re trying to get rid of your post-baby weight, but still regularly feel peckish, you’ll love these quick-and-easy snack suggestions. They’re great for get-togethers on the weekend, too.

Fruit, nuts and mint with cream cheese yoghurt

 *serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 Ryvita
  • 20ml cream cheese
  • 20ml Greek yoghurt
  • 5ml lemon juice
  • 5ml castor sugar
  • Fruit of your liking
  • 15ml chopped cashew nuts
  • 5ml mint jelly

Method

  1. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, yoghurt, lemon juice and icing sugar.
  2. Spoon the mixture onto the Ryvita and add the fruit, cashew nuts and mint jelly.
  3. Serve immediately

Yogurt and fruit on Ryvita

Almond butter, dried banana and roasted almond

*Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 Ryvita
  • 1 small handful of salad greens
  • 30ml almond butter
  • 4 pieces of dried banana
  • 20ml Greek yoghurt
  • 15ml chopped roasted almond

Method

  • Arrange the greens on the Ryvita.
  • Add the almond butter, banana and yoghurt.
  • Sprinkle the almonds over the top.

Nuts and nut butter

Steamed veggies and ricotta

*Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 2 Ryvita
  • 1 small handful of salad greens
  • Veggies of your choice, steamed
  • 20ml ricotta cheese, crumbled
  • 10ml lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 15ml olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Arrange the salad greens onto the Ryvita.
  • Place the veggies onto the greens.
  • Top with the ricotta.
  • Mix the lemon juice, poppy seeds and olive oil together and sprinkle over the veggies.
  • Season to taste and serve immediately.

Fig and white rock cheese

*Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 slice Ryvita
  • 1 fig, cut into quarters
  • 1 table spoon white rock cheese with fig
  • 1 sprig mint
  • Pinch of poppy seeds
  • Micro herbs to serve

Method

  • Arrange the fig, cheese and mint onto the Ryvita.
  • Garnish with poppy seeds and micro herbs.
  • Serve immediately.

Camembert, blueberry, nut and honey

*Serves 1

Ingredients

  1. 1 slice Ryvita
  2. Quarter Camembert, sliced
  3. Handful of blueberries
  4. Small handful of nuts
  5. Drizzle of honey
  6. Micro herbs to serve

Method

  1. Arrange the Camembert, blueberries and nuts on the Ryvita.
  2. Drizzle with honey and top with micro herbs.
  3. Serve immediately.
