Our top 6 feeding chairs for baby

Make mealtimes easy and enjoyable with one of these functional feeding chairs. By Pippa Naude

What to consider when buying a feeding chair

Easy to clean

Meals can get messy, so choose a chair that doesn’t have lots of crevices for food to get stuck in. Look for surfaces and materials that wipe clean easily, and consider removable and machine-washable seat covers and trays.

Safety

It’s important that the chair is stable and has a secure harness. Don’t forget to test the buckle – you don’t want it to be too easy to undo, even when your tot is a little older.

Adjustable

Look for a seat that can accommodate your growing child. If you’re opting for a high chair, make sure you can adjust the height to suit different situations like eating at the table with the family or having a snack in the kitchen while you’re cooking.

Comfort

A comfortable, padded seat will help keep your baby content. Make sure there are no sharp edges or hinges that can scratch or pinch.

Space

If you have limited space, you may want a chair that packs away. In addition to considering how compact it is, check that it’s easy to assemble and put away quickly, and that it’s lightweight.
