These can be made from any fabric you like, but coloured felt works really well.
What you’ll need:
• Pieces of felt in A4-size pieces
• Crafters glue
• A black pen or black glitter glue, or a felt pen
• Scissors
• Various buttons, googley eyes and embellishments
• Cardboard for the pattern
How to make them:
1. Download our pattern
here. Cut out the shape from a cereal box or cardboard that’s a little thicker.
2. Hold the pattern against the felt and cut around the edges.
3. Glue the body parts together, and then the head. (Allow 30 minutes for the body to dry).
4. If you don’t want to use glue, stitch the body parts together with a needle and thread.
5. Cut out the facial pieces and glue them on afterwards.
6. Allow your child to help you decorate the puppets, using any materials you like, such as feathers, faux-fur, pipe cleaners, glitter, buttons and ribbon.
Tip: Make the puppet's body slightly larger than your hand, so that there’s room once the pieces are attached. Adjust the pattern scale down to fit your child’s
