Bluebottle stings

Flood the area with methylated spirits (or even urine if nothing else is available), as a bluebottle sting is an alkaline burn, and will be neutralised by these.
For relief from Mother Nature, crush the leaves of succulent dune plants, and apply to the affected area.
If a child collapses and isn’t breathing, or you can’t locate a pulse, you’ll need to give him CPR and summon help urgently.
If signs of severe allergy manifest (severe swelling, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or collapse), consult your doctor immediately.
