First year milestones: 3 months

Important milestones your baby will reach by 3 months.

  • There’s generally firm head and neck control by now and Baby swipes at objects and pulls at things within focal range.
  • She can bring her hands together, push her upper body up a little, and will be able to play with her feet between now and six months when she’s lying on her back.
  • Baby smiles a lot, and may laugh a little and make cooing sounds.
  • Her eyes focus intently on her own hands, nearby toys and other objects and she follows moving objects with her head and eyes.
  • She’ll visibly turn towards voices and sounds by now.
  • Baby may be able to roll over sometime between now and five months.
