Important milestones your baby will reach in the first year.
At birth
- Eye contact and hearing are important stimulation tools. Babies should scrunch their eyes in bright light and be able to blink and follow movement very briefly.
- They have a short focal range of 25–30cm.
- Hearing is well-developed, and they’ll recognise and be soothed by their mom and dad’s voices, but have a fright reflex at discordant or loud sounds.
